The Many Faces Of Ralph Fiennes

This week, Spectre arrived in North American cinemas, and is expected to break all sorts of records. Whether the film deserves that is up for grabs: my personal opinion is that this is one of the weaker Bonds for reasons I explain in my review. Still, I found few faults with the actors, one of them being the great Ralph Fiennes, who plays Bond's boss "M".

Ralph Fiennes has a talent for playing characters who wear a mask of stiff civilization, and depending on the film he's in you get to wonder what's behind it: a warm interior, or something seriously broken? With Fiennes, seeing the cracks appear is always fun, and he can portray both vulnerability and icy steel.

Therefore, once again I'm going to use fifteen pictures of one of my favourite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images, and guess which movies they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb!

And I'll post the answers next Thursday, or earlier if someone gets all of them right...

Kurt Halfyard and Michele "Izzy" Galgana contributed to this story.

And here he is as "M", basically Bond's boss, though to be honest his influence on Bond in Spectre is pretty much none-existent...

This picture doesn't count yet for the quiz, but all others do, so please browse through the gallery: click on the edge of the picture to get the next one, and see how many of them all you can identify!

And a special note: our very own Shelagh Rowan-Legg took one look at the quiz yesterday, and knew them ALL! She decided it would not be fair to participate as she would theoretically have been able to know some of the answers, from when us editors were discussing the quiz.

But I know she didn't cheat, so that was actually pretty awesome.
