Mayhem 2016: Announces First Two Titles, THEY CALL ME JEEG ROBOT And THE REZORT
The Mayhem Film Festival is always a highlight of seasonal festivities in Notthingham, England every October. The festival has just announced the first two titles of this year's lineup.
Homeland hero Steve Barker, keeps dipping into the zombie genre after bringing us Outpoust and Outpost: Black Sun with his new flick The ReZort. And currently making it's rounds on the festival circuit with a stop the other week at Fantasia is Gabriele Mainetti's They Call Me Jeeg Robot.
Mayhem Film Festival are thrilled to announce Steve Barker’s The ReZort and Gabriele Mainetti’s They Call Me Jeeg Robot as the first two films from their 12th edition’s line-up.Returning to Broadway, Nottingham on 13-16 October, Mayhem Film Festival will also welcome Steve Barker for a Q&A following a screening of his new film. Described as Westworld meets The Walking Dead, The ReZort is set in a world where humanity has defeated a zombie apocalypse, and moved on to offer a Zombie Safari – a chance to hunt and kill the walking dead in a controlled environment. Also on the line-up is Italian gritty and grimy superhero movie They Call Me Jeeg Robot, which sees a petty criminal transformed and given superpowers after falling into Rome’s toxic Tiber River. But his plans to use his powers for crime fall apart after being mistaken for a 1970s Japanese anime by a woman he saves from mobsters and becoming the target of the criminal underworld.“We’re putting together another fantastic and diverse line-up for this year’s festival, explains Mayhem Co-Director, Steven Sheil, and we’re really happy to be screening these two films, which offer great new spins on the zombie and superhero genres. We’re also looking forward to bringing Steve Barker to Mayhem for the first time to present The ReZort, the first of a number of special guested events we have planned for the festival.”Mayhem Film Festival will take place at Broadway, Nottingham on 13-16 October.
