SyFy And MAN OF STEEL's David Goyer Developing KRYPTON Series
SyFy is looking to get a piece of the super-hero television series pie and has enlisted David Goyer to help do it.

THR is reporting that the cable network and the writer of the Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel will develop a new drama about Superman's home planet, Krypton

From Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics, Krypton takes place years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This drama, which is in development, follows the Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.

I will be the first to admit that I do not know if there is a Superman Universe out there and if there are novelizations or a created history to Krypton already. There would have to be, wouldn't there? A character as popular as Supes, right? So I do not know if there is already an established history of Krypton that the show creators will follow or brush to the side.

SyFy is making bold attempts to get back into the scripted show game again. Their previous attempt at an origin series. Caprica, was an attempt to ride the post BSG high and it was an abysmal failure. So good luck to SyFy.
