Toronto 2014: Music Video For SONGS SHE WROTE ABOUT PEOPLE SHE KNOWS - "I'm Sick Of Everyone"
Even though I am a resident of the State of Texas in the United States, I feel a strange kinship with my friends in the Frozen North (i.e. Canada), especially this week, when the Toronto International Film Festival is dominating the news -- and certainly our site. But what of the independent Canadian filmmakers who are willing to make possibly rude yet even more probably very funny comedies? Shouldn't they receive a special tip of the hat?
Indeed they do, which is why we are pleased to debut a music video from Songs She Wrote About People She Knows, a Canadian indie comedy that will amuse and delight you. (Probably. Who knows, really? Comedies strike different people in different ways, no matter their nationality.)
Carol, an emotionally repressed woman, faces the ramifications of honest self-expression when she begins singing songs she wrote about people knows. As she alienates friends and co-workers, Carol unexpectedly inspires her boss, to whom she dedicates the song Asshole Dave, to quit his job, pick up a guitar and attempt to reignite his dream of becoming a rock star. As Dave flounders, Carol begins to hone her unique talents.
Kris Elgstrand directed; Arabella Bushnell and Brad Dryborough star. The film debuts later today at the Toronto festival at 5:00 p.m., with two more screenings to follow this week. But you don't have to wait any longer; you can watch the music video below.
