Pretty Packaging: Arrow's FEMALE PRISONER SCORPION Boxset Carries A Pretty Sting
When distributor Arrow announced they were going to release a boxset of all four Female Prisoner Scorpion films, it was one of those moments when we raise flags here at Screen Anarchy central. I mean, these films are rightfully known as classics in the Japanese exploitation genre, and their star Kaji Meiko is iconic.
Seven years ago, Eureka had released the first three films as a boxset on DVD, so Arrow's announcement was also a bit of a surprise. Well, the end result is finally in stores, and meets all expectations. All films look damn good and the discs are loaded with extras. I mean, when the contributor-list includes names like Jasper Sharp, Tom Mes, Marc Walkow, Gareth Evans and Kier-La Janisse, you know you have reason to be happy.
