The Many Faces Of Michael Caine

Last week, Interstellar was released in many parts of the world, a film with a fine cast indeed, among them the instantly recognizable Michael Caine.

At 81 years of age, Michael Caine has more than five decades of golden classics and gleefully rotten films to his name. Never ashamed to go for an easy paycheck, he is also always able to give his best, given the material. Surprising fans and foes throughout the ages with his eclectic choice of roles and performances, he is a legend and rightfully so (British pop-group Madness even made a song about him).

Therefore, once again I'm going to use a gallery of eleven close-ups of one of my favorite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images and guess which eleven movies they're from! No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb.

And I'll post the answers next Thursday (earlier if someone has all eleven of them right).

And here he is, trying to convince Matthew's character to stop spending so much quality time with his children in Interstellar.

This picture isn't part of the quiz yet, but all others are. Browse through the gallery to see how many you can recognize!

10 has got to Be Jaws: The Revenge.

Ah, JAWS 4: THE REVENGE, the film which allegedly gave us the following quote from Michael Caine: "I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

Movie 10 is correct!
That leaves 5, 6 and 9...

5. The Swarm
6. Death trap
9. Alfie

Ard VijnNovember 16, 2014 8:30 PM

Movie number 5 is indeed the execrable THE SWARM!
Alas, 6 and 9 are close but no cigar...

And the funny thing is: I fully expected number 6 to be one of the first to be guessed. There is no telling, is there?

6 could be Dressed to Kill but I don't remember that one too well since I've caught only parts of it

Ard VijnNovember 17, 2014 7:10 AM

Correct! Movie #6 is indeed Brian De Palma's DRESSED TO KILL.
That just leaves Movie #9...
