ONLY GOD FORGIVES Wins Official Competition At 60th Sydney Film Festival
Today is the last day of the 60th Sydney Film Festival, and Festival Director Nashen Moodley and Official Competition Jury President Hugo Weaving have just announced Only God Forgives as the winner of this year's Official Competition $60,000 cash prize.

"After 10 days of captivating and diverse film viewing and passionate conversations, the jury arrived at a majority decision. In the true spirit of the Competition criteria, we award a visually mesmerizing and disturbing film, which polarized our opinions. The winner of the Sydney Film Prize is Only God Forgives," the jury commented.

"I am very honored and extremely excited to have received this honorable award from a country that in my opinion has one of the great film histories of the world," said Nicolas Winding Refn.

Starring Ryan Gosling, Kristin Scott Thomas and Vithaya Pansringarm, Only God Forgives is a brutal story of betrayal, rage and redemption set in the Thai underworld. Director Refn will be awarded officially at SFF's Closing Night ceremony tonight.
