People have been buzzing about Michael Shannon's performance in Take Shelter since it debuted at Sundance last January. I finally got a chance to see Jeff Nichols's film at Fantastic Fest and can report it is well worth the hype. Not only is Shannon a very likely Oscar nom but co-star Jessica Chastain turns in yet another inspired performance this year. This is a true poetic masterpiece of a film.
