Oooooh. If my heart weren't already committed to other Asian actresses you could be sure that Shu Qi would be right up there on the waiting list.

Shu Qi [The Transporter] will team with Ken Watanabe [Batman Begins and The Last Samurai] and Wesley Snipes [Blade(plural), Passenger 57, The Art of War and Demolition Man] in an upcoming actioner titled Chasing the Dragon.

Song, a poverty-stricken Asian girl played by Qi, and Snipes, playing FBI Agent Bo Monroe, travel from China Town to Taiwan on a relentless pursuit of a ruthless Asian drug lord, Jimmy Jiro, played by Watanabe.

Chris Nahon [Kiss of the Dragon] will helm the script written by W. Peter Iliff [Varsity Blues, Patriot Games and Point Break]. Production begins in December on location in Taiwan and here in one of Toronto's five china towns.

Qi is still trying to break in western film so her 'limited' role is to be expected. Run. Scream. Look hot. I'm fine with that. You know what to expect from Snipes. Lots of bravado. Lots of martial arts. Always bet on Black!!! And it is good to see Watanabe developing such a diverse resume. Sure this role isn't going to require much in ability but it balances out with the roles in Samurai and Geisha. No sense getting pigeon-holed.

Shu Qi stalkers get your digital cameras ready and... go!
