Love, Family, Honor: New JUARA Posters Released
The trailer for new Indonesian action-comedy flick Juara piqued our interest with the impressive looking skills of young pop sensation Bisma Karisma. Before the film goes on general release tomorrow, the producers have released a really interesting set of posters based on the film's three main themes: love, family, and honor.
The movie’s creative producer and consultant Daniel Irawan had this to say on the posters’ development: “While on the official poster we have to follow certain trends such as showing all the faces and appealing to a wide audience – mostly Bisma’s fans - and they couldn’t go way too artsy, it doesn’t mean that we can’t be creative.
"Our official poster was done by DC-Marvel penciller/artist Ario Anindito. That was great, but we also decided to go with a series of alternate teaser posters, created by Hanief AN, who’s actually a freelance photographer and has a special talent in making his own versions of posters. While most teasers consist of character posters, I asked Hanief to put the movie’s three main elements ‘love, family and honor’ into the series of alternate posters and go wildly artsy beyond the typical selling points and considerations. Indonesian films need better posters with more of an international feel – instead of sticking only to locals.”
Directed by Charles Gozali, the film features Tora Sudiro, Cut Mini Teo, standup comedian Mo Sidik, and Cecep Arif Rahman (The Raid: Redemption, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) alongside star Karisma. Juara opens April 14th.
