Seth Rogen's PREACHER Gets Series Order At AMC
Preacher, the beloved and controversial Vertigo comic book by Gareth Ennis and Steve Dillon, has been ordered to series by AMC, according to Seth Rogen, who has been developing the project with regular partner Evan Goldberg and Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin.

Rogen shared the news in a tweet earlier today (see below), which confirms that the television studio responsible for recent smash hits including Breaking Bad, Mad Men and The Walking Dead will finally bring to screen one of the most beloved comic series of recent decades. Rogen has already directed a pilot, with Dominic Cooper in the lead role of Jesse Custer, a small-town Texas minister who embarks on a personal crusade to rid the world of evil, with his trigger-happy ex-lover Tulip (Ruth Negga) and a hard-drinking Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joe Gilgun) at his side.

Preacher is sick, funny, horrifically violent and damn good fun, and frankly I cannot wait for it to hit the Kim Davis-loving hordes' radar. TV is definitely the best platform to bring a screen adaptation of the property to life, and on recent form there seems no better home for it than AMC. Will Rogen, Goldberg, Cooper et al be able to deliver a product that satisfies hardcore fans while also proving accessible enough for a mainstream audience to sustain it remains to be seen. But right now, we are allowed to say a little prayer and be happy.
