The Many Faces Of Simon Pegg

Last week brought a new installment in the Mission: Impossible series, and with it a supporting appearance by Simon Pegg.

For some time, just after his international breakthrough, it seemed Simon was some kind of superman. Whether you were checking his latest output or digging into his back catalogue, you only kept discovering more and more gold. Here was a fellow geek and fan who "got it", and who was part of a fun team which was creatively capable of transferring that love cinematically to a large audience. A team (hell, an A-team, even!) which understood the difference between parody and homage, and could do both.

Alas, some lesser entries in his output have not kept him at the automatic "must-see" level for me (though he's still at the automatic "will check" level), but that does not discount his best performances, where he can be funny, scary and poignant, and sometimes all at the same time.

So once again I'm going to use eleven pictures of one of my favourite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images, and guess which movies or shows they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb!

And I'll post the answers next Thursday, or earlier if someone gets all eleven of them right.

And here he is as a rather camouflaged Benji, in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

This picture doesn't count yet for the quiz, but all others do. So please browse through the gallery: click on the edge of the picture to get the next one, and see how many of them all you can identify!

You got all the numbers wrong, but if you renumber 1-12 to 0-11 you have 1 (FUZZ), 3 (FEAR), and 9 (DARK TREK) right.
That leaves 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,10 and 11!

Ard VijnAugust 2, 2015 8:04 PM

Ah, that's more like it: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 are right!
Which leaves 4 and 8...

Ard VijnAugust 2, 2015 8:05 PM

Correct!
That just leaves number 4...

Ard VijnAugust 2, 2015 8:07 PM

Alas, no.
A bit of a hard one, this number 4, as it's basically just a cameo appearance, but hey, it's him!
