Vietnam Enters The Masked Hero Arena With Tokusatsu Comedy SIEU NHAN X

Vietnam is about to have a masked hero to call its own with director Nguyễn Quang Dũng's Sieu Nhan X slated for release over the 2015 Tet holidays. The Vietnamese New Year celebration, Tet coincides with Chinese New Year and - like Chinese New Year - has quickly emerged as the biggest and best time to release what the studios believe are the biggest and best films. Or at least the most crowd pleasing.

Will Sieu Nhan X pass muster? Well, the comedy style is so regional that I don't expect it will travel abroad much at all but comedy plays huge in Vietnam and tokusatsu style masked heroes are simply huge throughout pretty much all of Asia. Throw in some high quality production values and, yeah, this should go over a treat amongst local audience. Check out the trailer below.
