Sono Sion Goes Gonzo Comedy With New WHY DON'T YOU PLAY IN HELL Trailer
A new trailer for Sono Sion's long awaited - and soon to premiere in Venice and Toronto - Why Don't You Play In Hell dropped today, along with a full synopsis. Judging by the trailer this newest effort looks somehow different from Sono's previous films. He still lays on some good bloody scenes, and still shows a love for classical music, but you may not have seen that comedic tone coming. Together with the silly sound effects this latest film may veer more to  comedy than expected.

Muto (Jun Kunimura) and Ikegami (Shinichi Tsutsumi) are two gangsters who hate each other, but Ikegami is in love with Muto's actress daughter Michiko (Fumi Nikaido). Meanwhile, Muto attempts to make his wife Shizue's (Tomochika) dream come true which is to have their daughter appear in a movie.

Koji (Gen Hoshino), who is just a passerby, is mistaken for a movie director. Koji then requests to independent film director Hirata (Hiroki Hasegawa) to cast Michiko as the leading actress in his film. Their situation soon goes completely wrong.
