Paraguay's 7 BOXES contain a Whole Lotta Kinetic Energy
When a street barrow-courier in the most chaotic urban marketplace in capital city of Paraguay gets the gig of watching over seven rather large and mysterious crates, things are sure to get out of hand, and in this trailer for Juan Carlos Maneglia's and Tana Schémbori's 7 Boxes, they certainly do.  One of the smaller genre films playing at TIFF this year, this one, based on what is below, offers a heck of a lot of promise, here is an excerpt from the TIFF website:

Making atmospheric use of the squalid, massively overcrowded labyrinth of Asunción's outdoor bazaars, this auspicious first feature by Juan Carlos Maneglia and Tana Schémbori is a brilliantly down-market homage to the Hollywood suspense-action genre, where racing cars and squealing tires are replaced by wooden wheelbarrows executing harrowing chase scenes. As Victor and his adversaries clash in a frantic tug-of-war over his dangerous payload, the dizzying cinematography and hammering electronic score drive us toward an explosive, nail-biting finale.
