First (Real) Trailer for Wong Kar Wai's THE GRANDMASTERS Has Finally Arrived!

It feels like Wong Kar Wai's THE GRANDMASTERS has been in production for a very long time, even by Wong's usual standards. From memory, it was in 2009 when filming started, but there were times when the production was apparently stopped, and during this time, its main actor Tony Leung took (?was given) time off to film Derek Yee's THE GREAT MAGICIAN.

A little while back, we did get a teaser trailer, but that was nothing more than a showcase of some wonderful Chinese calligraphy but no footage whatsoever. It got to a point when rumours were spreading that the film might never be completed.

Finally, a new teaser trailer has arrived, one that shows actual footage and some action. Hopefully this means we will get to see the completed film soon. Starring Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi, the film will be the fourth recent film that tells the story of the Wing Chun grandmaster, Ip Man.
