Shane Meadows' This Is England was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2006 and one of the best films of that year all around. A highly autobiographical work Meadows fused elements of his own childhood with those of his young star Thomas Turgoose to create something incredibly intimate and powerful.
Since that film released there has been ongoing talk of Meadows revisiting that same era with a television project meant to continue telling the story of the characters from the film. And while I knew it was coming soon I hadn't realized that the series - a four episode affair - had been completed and aired in the UK this past September. So while I'm coming to the party a bit late I present to you the official trailer for Meadows' This Is England 86.
