Tsui Hark plans Sequel to Seven Swords
A sequel to Seven Swords is underway according to reports from various online news sources. Tsui hark's wife, Nansun Shi has confirmed that the script is now in the work in process stage. Originally, Tsui plans to adapt the novels on which the film is based into a seven part movie series.
The first Seven Sword tell a story on how seven swordsman’s came together to defend a village from a band of ruthless mercenaries. The film was a moderate box office success in Asia but it was face with complaints from critics citing the pace of the story felt disjointed or it lack focus, a problem which may have been contributed to shorting the length of the original cut. For the plot of the sequel as hinted in the ending of the first Seven Sword, the heroes set off on a adventure to the capital of China to confront the emperor, attempting to lift the ban on Martial Arts.
Tsui Hark hopes to begin filming before the end of the year.
