Snappy New Trailer For Shane Black's THE NICE GUYS

Writer/Director Shane Black continues to work his particular magic with the buddy comedy formula (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon) to great effect. Pair up Russell Crowe's hired muscle with Ryan Gosling's accident-prone private dick and drop in a period 1970s setting equals, judging from this new greenband trailer, comedy gold. At this point, I like to think of The Nice Guys as filling the niche of a populist, low-brow version of Inherent Vice. This is a very good thing.

The earlier red-band trailer offered a look at how violent and raunchy the mayhem was going to get, but this new full trailer gets more into the details of the plot -- suicide, disco, porn stars, the mafia, and the kind of movie Los Angeles we know and love -- but it really showcases the chemistry of the two leads, and what appears to be one of Black's top-tier screenplays.
