Tatenda Mbudzi Heads To ZIM HIGH In First Ever African Teen Movie

Comedian and filmmaker Tatenda Mbudzi is breaking new ground with his upcoming Zim High, a film he believes to be the first ever African teen comedy. Set in the harsh environs of a Zimbabwe private high school the film follows Mbudzi himself in his quest to rise from social outcast status to prefect, thereby securing the scholarship that will allow him to study anime in Japan.

Zim High promises to be an interesting look at post-colonial Africa, the school itself based on Mbudzi's own educational experiences and clearly taking a pretty matter of fact stance on racial divides. Plus the production quality is quite high and it just looks like rather a lot of fun. Take a look at the trailer below!
