The Many Faces Of David Bowie

When we do these quizzes here at ScreenAnarchy, we try to couple them to current news. Often this news is the premiere of a movie, and we pick one of the actors. Sometimes, the occasion is a lot sadder, and we use a quiz to highlight the career of someone who recently died. This, sadly, is one of those quizzes. And even more sadly, we had plenty of cinema greats to choose from this week: Angus Scrimm, Alan Rickman, and David Bowie were all among those who left us.

But I think it was David Bowie's death which hit me the hardest, the man having been around and famous since I was born. Truth be told I cannot recall having been this much affected by a celebrity death since... well, decades. Even though I didn't count myself as a huge raving fan of the man, the world definitely seems different without him, in my mind at least.

Anyway. David Bowie also had a very impressive resumé as an actor, going far, FAR beyond what you'd count as a music artist grabbing some bucks on the side. In fact, many of his roles are so distinctly memorable that this was a damn hard quiz to make difficult.

But nevertheless, once again I'm going to use fifteen pictures of one of my favourite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images, and guess which movies they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb!

And I'll post the answers next Thursday, or earlier if someone gets all fifteen of them right.

Kurt Halfyard, , Dustin Chang, Zach Gayne, Michele "Izzy" Galgana and Juan J. Espinoza contributed to this story.

And here he is, in an impressively creepy video for his new (and last) album Blackstar.

This picture doesn't count yet for the quiz, but all others do, so please browse through the gallery: click on the edge of the picture to get the next one, and see how many of them all you can identify!

You have 2, 3 and 4 correct, after that the counting may be a bit off... I think you meant 7 and 9.
If so, you have them all correct (I'm lenient) and that leaves 1, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Ard VijnJanuary 15, 2016 11:51 AM

You have 1, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 13 correct!
That leaves 11, 14 and 15... (and granted, 15 is a whore).

Fraz MacJanuary 15, 2016 12:11 PM

Oh, missed Fraz Mac's reply. They're all answered now then, right?

The hitman from Into the Night. Personal favourite Bowie movie role. Must see. Knowing it's Carl Perkins he's pitted against in the knife fight scene adds a subtle touch of irony. Michelle Pfeiffer's best nude scene. Need I say more?
