Toronto 2015: Watch The First Two Minutes Of Robin Pront's Debut THE ARDENNES
Robin Pront's debut feature film The Ardennes is all set to have its world premiere here in Toronto Monday night as part of the Discovery program at TIFF. ScreenAnarchy has an exclusive clip of the first two minutes from his film to share with you. I have attached the trailer below as well so you can get a feel for Pront's take on the Cain and Abel story.

The Ardennes is the story of two brothers - Dave (Jeroen Perceval) and Kenneth (Kevin Janssens) - who are reunited on Kenneth's release after four years in prison following a botched home invasion. Much has changed in the interim. While Kenneth is anxious to dive headfirst into the drug-centred existence that ensnared him in the first place, both Dave and Kenneth's erstwhile girlfriend Sylvie (Oscar nominated Veerle Baetens) have adopted clean lifestyles.

But Kenneth has a trump card that can bring all of their plans crashing down. He pointedly never named Dave as his accomplice, and now has no scruples when it comes to calling in the debt. When Kenneth arranges an innocent-seeming trip to the scenic Ardennes - where they'd spent the happiest times of their youth - Dave has no idea how dark the trip down memory lane will turn.

Pront adapted The Ardennes from a play by one of his leads, Jeroen Perceval. Perceval has starred in Pront's short films Plan B and Injury Time. Fans of Borgman and The Broken Circle Breakdown will recognize actor Jan Bijovet.
