POPOZ: New Kid Huub Smit Stars In The Dutch Cop Comedy

You could call Dutch cop comedy Popoz a regional response to the Jump Street films and not be too far off, though I have a hunch you'd be selling it just a touch short by doing so. Directed by Martijn Smits and Erwin van den Eshof - the duo responsible for Dutch zombie comedy Zombibi - the feature is expanded out from the duo's Comedy Central television series of the same name which ran for a six episode series in 2013 with a standalone special following in 2014.

Former New Kids and Bros Before Hos star Huub Smit takes one of the lead roles along with Sergio Hasselbaink and Noel Deelen in a cop comedy that tends towards the sort of broad, slapstick humor that Smit specializes in fused with large scale stunts and the result looks like a big bag of fun.
