Exclusive Clip: LOW AND BEHOLD, After Hurricane Katrina, What Then?
One of the deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States, Hurricane Katrina initially formed as a tropical storm on August 23, 2005, became a hurricane shortly after making landfall in Florida, where it weakened briefly before gaining in intensity over the Gulf of Mexico, then making landfall again over Louisiana on August 29. Katrina claimed more than 1,800 lives, and displaced more than one million people.
In honor of the 10th anniversary, the feature film Low and Behold will make its digital premiere tomorrow on iTunes. Here's the official synopsis:
Based on real events, Low and Behold tells the story of a young insurance claim adjuster, in post-Katrina New Orleans, who risks his job to help a local man find his lost dog. Shot in New Orleans only months after Hurricane Katrina, this neorealist-inspired film blends fiction and non-fiction to tell the story of an unlikely friendship.
Zack Godshall (Lord Byron, God's Architects) directed. Barlow Jacobs (Shotgun Stories, The Master) stars; he also co-wrote the script with Godshall. Jared Moshe, Sarah Hendler and Jacobs produced.
According to the official statement: "The iTunes release will be followed by releases on Amazon Instant Video, Microsoft Xbox, Sony Entertainment Network, SundanceNOW, VUDU, YouTube."
We have an exclusive clip from the film, which you can watch below. It gives a hint at the frustration, and isolation, faced by Katrina survivors. And bear in mind that it was filmed just a few months after the tragedy in 2005. More information about the film is available at the official site and at the official Facebook page.
