You see, the film was shot in one of the oldest homes in the U.S. --- as well as home to the Salem Witch Trial children. The Noyes-Parris House (c. 1669) was owned by the Rev. Samuel Parris, father of Betty Parris and uncle to Abigail Williams, the two girls who made the initial accusations that led to the tragic events that took place in Salem, Massachusetts.
To help raise funds needed for finishing costs of The Inhabitants, the Rasmussen brothers just launched a Indiegogo campaign --- that means that you can get your hands on some nasty-sounding props used in the film, like a skeletal infant, a tooth-encrusted charm, or a sticky birthing chair. Scare your parents by hiding the infant behind a toilet or under a pillow. Or just stock up for Halloween.
So, what is the film about? Here's a synopsis from the press release:
The film revolves around a young couple that gets more than they bargained for when they purchase and renovate an old bed and breakfast in New England. After a series of escalating events, the husband begins to suspect that something terrible is hiding within the walls of this old house and that whatever it is has set its sights on his wife.
