Exclusive: Your First Look At The MEXICO BARBARO Horror Anthology Trailer
Hola, mis hermanos! We have the online premiere of the trailer for the Mexican horror anthology México Bárbaro! The trailer was first shown to an audience at a public conference during the Macabro International Horror Film Festival at the end of August.
Raven Banner Entertainment has picked up world sales rights to the upcoming horror picture México Bárbaro. Eight of Mexico's hottest new genre directors unite to bring you tales of the most brutally shocking Mexican traditions and legends to life.
Featuring different visions from across the country, directors Jorge Michel Grau, Aarón Soto, Edgar Nito, Gigi Saúl Guerrero, Isaac Ezbán, Ulises Guzmán, Laurette Flores and Lex Ortega put their own unique twist on these haunting stories.
"México Bárbaro shows the world stories that form a part of our culture, and even some that have haunted us and made us have nightmares since childhood, those ones which took away our innocence. The boogeyman, trolls, ghosts, creatures, Aztec sacrifices, and of course our most beloved tradition, Day of the Dead, immerse in urban and rural stories are some of the issues that make up this anthology." stated producer, Mayra Castro
Poster design is made by the Mexican illustrator "Guro", who also created individual poster design for each segment.
The deal was negotiated by Michael Paszt, James Fler and Annick Mahnert of Raven Banner and producers, Mayra E. Castro, Jorge Michel Grau and Lex Ortega.
México Bárbaro will have its World Premiere at Sitges. This is the first time outside of Macabro that anyone will see this trailer. In it you will see every director's style and unique look. Imagery varies from the beautiful, to the sexy, to the grotesque and disturbing. And I am fairly certain that is director Lex Ortega growling México Bárbaro at the end.
So we are probably going to put this in the NSFW category. Just in case. But there does appear to be something for everyone!
We have also included the newest individual short poster for La Casa Mas Preciada by Isaac Ezban.
México Bárbaro's world premiere will be at Sitges, part of the Fantàstic Panorama official selection, with screenings on Oct. 8th and the 10th in a triple screening with ABC's of Death 2 and V/H/S Viral.
