We are unabashed fans of UK writer-director-performer Richard Ayoade in these parts, having been won over by his comic performances in Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, The IT Crowd and others back in the days before he shifted his focus to work behind the camera. Ayoade's debut film as a director, Submarine, was an outright charmer while his sophomore picture The Double is an altogether darker beast that nonetheless won us over wholeheartedly when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon's exact physical double and his opposite - confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon's horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.

Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska take the lead roles and with the UK release creeping up the full theatrical trailer has arrived. Take a look below.
