Ben Whishaw Is Q In New Bond Flick SKYFALL
Well, now, that's a major change in the image of a key character in the James Bond franchise.
After being played by elderly men throughout the entire run of James Bond films, gadget maker Q has gotten a makeover with Sam Mendes casting Ben Whishaw in the role. 'Q' is a title, not a particular character, so there's certainly plenty of room for Mendes to do whatever he wants with the part but this will certainly shake up the standard relationship between Bond and Q, the agent now being significantly older than the tech whiz he's relying on to equip him rather than the other way around.
Whishaw, of course, is still best know for playing the lead in Tom Tykwer's Perfume but around these parts his most important role remains his stint as Pingu in Chris Morris' Nathan Barley.
