Jonathan Rhys Meyers - star of The Tudors, From Paris With Love and Velvet Goldmine - was rushed to hospital Tuesday after what appears to be a suicide attempt by overdose of pills.
Police have confirmed that they were called to the scene by ambulance workers after Meyers refused service. He was taken to hospital against his will and treated before being released on Wednesday.
Meyers' talent has long been undercut by serious substance abuse problems, this being the latest in a string of alcohol and drug related events. We wish him well.
