SXFantastic 2011: When The Gangs Of THE FP Say Dance, You'd Best DANCE Mother F*!&er!

You do not mess with the men of The FP. They're hard. They're tough. They're mohawked and tattooed and pierced. They're stone cold badasses, every last one of them, and if you cross them you'd best be prepared to ... dance?
For years an underground war has raged for dominance over the small town of Frazier Park between two clans: The 248 from the north and the 245 from the south. The outcome of this war is determined not with fistfights or petty brawls, but the dancing video game Beat-Beat Revelation. With a skirmish imminent between the two clan leaders, BTRO, legendary Beat-Beat Player from the 248 and the up and coming, foul mouthed, shit talkin' threat, L Dubba E, who leads the 245. Our hero, caught in the middle of this war is BTRO's younger brother, JTRO. A young man struggling to find his strength, and become the savior he was born to be.
The debut feature by the Trost Brothers - one of whom is best known as the cinematographer of Crank - The FP will have its world premiere March 13th as part of the SXFantastic lineup at SXSW. The series of midnight films programmed by Fantastic Fest, the largest genre film festival in the US, SXFantastic last year hosted the world premieres of Gareth Edward's Monsters and the much-buzzed A Serbian Film.
We ran the first stills from this one a while back and we are now pleased to share six more, appearing exclusively here at ScreenAnarchy. Check the gallery below.
And, yes, I will consider it a major missed opportunity if the Violent Femmes song quoted in the headline fails to appear in the film.
