Sola Aoi And Juno Mak Star In Psychosexual Thriller REVENGE: A LOVE STORY

It would appear that Josie Ho and her 852 Films banner are aiming to single handedly bring the Category Three film back into Hong Kong's mainstream. The Cat III, for those unaware, is essentially Hong Kong's R rating, the category reserved for the most violent or most sexual - or, in some cases, those films containing true life gang content - films allowed to be distributed in mainstream Hong Kong cinemas. In the late 80s and early 90s Hong Kong had a thriving Cat III scene in their film industry with producers turning out stacks of cult titles and hard edged horror but in recent days these films have all but disappeared.

Well, Ho is now two for two as a producer. First came Pang Ho-Cheung's gory slasher Dream Home and now they have cast Japanese porn star Sola Aoi opposite local boy Juno Mak for psycho-sexual thriller Revenge: A Love Story.

From a gory slasher to a twisted love story, Josie Ho's 852 Films is quickly becoming the go-to solution for Hong Kong audiences thirsting for local alternative genre films. Their second production stars pop singer Juno Mak (who also wrote the script) and prominent Japanese adult film actress Sora Aoi as lovers brought over the edge by vengeance. Working beyond the boundaries of commercial appeal or good taste, Mak and director Wong Ching Po (JIANG HU) are sure to offend a few people with their violent take on love and vengeance.
