Have Your Say: What Is The Best Movie Car Ever?
Vehicular mayhem is very popular in the cinema again, with a new Mad Max film churning up clouds of dust. And that dust hardly had time to settle after Furious 7 passed by at great speed.

Both films offer a great selection of cars to drool over and/or laugh at: Mad Max Fury Road has those driving fortresses, which look like they've been welded together by an army of maniac baboons, while the Fast and the Furious films have always "pimped" up (and smashed) all cars, from the very cheap to the ridiculously expensive.

Of course these two films are hardly the first ones to do so, a fact emphasized by both being sequels. The history of television and cinema is peppered with great road vehicles, from Thunderbirds' Lady Penelope's six-wheeled Rolls Royce, to Knight Rider's Kit, to John Carpenter's (Stephen King's) titular Christine, to... well, you get the picture. The James Bond films also had a nice and eclectic collection of them, if I remember correctly.

Which one do you like best though? What is your favorite earthbound mode of transportation, spotted in a film? Was it rugged, elegant, sleek? Vintage or futuristic?

Bluesmobile hands down.
Failing that, Kowalski's Dodge Challenger.

The effortlessness of John Frankenheimer's RONIN. Albeit the film is much, much, much more than a 'car movie.' It's got a a great couple of chases.

Other than that, THE ROAD WARRIOR still stands the test of time.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix. And maybe Batman 1966 Batmobile. That's a cool car.

Movie car, not car movie!

I'd have to go with the DeLorean.

chintai80May 19, 2015 1:59 PM

the delorean, v8 interceptor, and 1960s batmobile!

Kinda think if I could choose anything it'd have to be Deckard's flying police spinner from Blade Runner. Or maybe those transforming power suit motorbikes the Knight Sabers drive. But if we're just talking about movie cars I think are "cool," then I could go for each and every vehicle in DEATH PROOF, the Ecto 1, Medusa from BELLFLOWER, maybe Christine.

Bond's Aston Martin in Goldfinger...and for the cheesy side....The CAR...anything that can chase down James Brolin is okay in my book.

Always had a soft spot for Paul Le Mat's '32 Ford Coupe in American Graffiti.

I really do not like DAMNATION ALLEY much, but that vehicle they drove, with its rotating clusters of wheels, was awesome.

I saw a similar survey recently, with the results presented as a GIF. Very cool: http://www.reddit.com/r/gifs/c...
