BUSHWICK: EVIL DEAD's Jane Levy Takes Lead In Action Thriller From COOTIES Directors
Jane Levy (Evil Dead and Subergatory) has signed on to take the lead role in the upcoming action thriller Bushwick, produced by XYZ Films and Bullit Pictures. According to the announcement over at Deadline this is the next film from Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott, directors of Sundance title Cooties.
Levy plays 21-year old Lucy who emerges from a Brooklyn subway to find her neighborhood under attack. Lucy decides to cross the treacherous five blocks of Bushwick - littered with looters, local militias, the invading forces, and one crazy cousin - in order to get home and be reunited with her grandmother.
Murnion and Milott will be directing a script written by Nick Damici (Late Phases and Cold in July) and Graham Reznik (sound designer on Stakeland, The Innkeepers and House of the Devil). Bushwick will be produced by Nate Bolotin of XYZ and Adam Folk of Bullet Pictures.
Production begins early this Summer in New York.
For those of you still waiting to see Cooties, Lionsgate is releasing it some time this year. Perhaps.
(This is the part where we remind everyone that ScreenAnarchy founder Todd Brown is a partner at XYZ Films. He had no influence on the content of this article. I can find pretty pictures of Jane Levy by myself, thank you very much)
