Zack Snyder just tweeted this tasty little tease for his upcoming DC Universe flick, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, giving fans their first look at Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry...better known as Aquaman.

Momoa is signed on to star in three DC films so far, with next year's tete-a-tete coming ahead of The Justice League Part One in 2017 (which Snyder is also attached to direct), and a standalone Aquaman film in 2018. He'll probably be in the second Justice League film too, but that doesn't appear to be confirmed as yet.

I guess the big question this image poses is...who will play the seventh member of the Justice League's core team? With Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Momoa...who gets to play Green Lantern?

Either way, we will - hopefully - find out on, if not before, 25 March 2016, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is finally unveiled.

This could prove to be an inspired casting choice.

Conan the Aquaman.

I am with Stu. Momoa is an good actor (not great...but, decent), but has a massive visual presence...I just like looking at him... the cool factor is incredible.

I hope he rocks it. I am not a Snyder hater either (I am weird like that...I also love JJ Abrams...LOL), so I think this will be visually appealing.

Please, someone make a Conan O'Brien as Aquaman mashup!

YojimboFebruary 20, 2015 11:29 AM

I hope they go for a John Stewart Green lantern.

Agree - can't hurt after the Hal Jordan we got. Barring that, there's always Guy!

I'm just looking forward to Aquaman not sucking for a change...

looks badass. seems like they are basing it off this version of aquaman:

I like how they integrated Pacific Islander tattoo designs into him. I didn't think they could ever make Aquaman cool, but in this picture, at least, they succeeded.

You can critique Momoa, but once he gets in front of a camera, he sure can entertain! Big surprise actor!

Rumor has it that Aquaman "saves" Clark Kent in the water after he saved those people on the oil rig.

If true, it would be interesting to see how they retroactively make that plot-point.
