Yoshida Daihachi Joins Grand Jury At Toronto Japanese Film Festival
Yoshida Daihachi, director of ScreenAnarchy faves like Funuke Show Some Love, You Losers! and The Kirishima Thing is lending his expertise and experience to the Toronto Japanese Film Festival this June! The director is joining the festival's Grand Jury.
Daihachi is in Japan working on his next film and will voice his opinions about the films in competition from there. Ah, the wonders of technology.The Toronto Japanese Film Festival is pleased to announce the addition of the Grand Jury Prize at its 2014 festival. The award is given to the feature selected as the best film among the North American and Canadian premieres screened at the festival. The winning film-maker is awarded with a certificate and prize money of 100,000 Japanese yen.Director Daihachi Yoshida, winner of last year's Japan Academy Award for Best Film and Best Director for THE KIRISHIMA THING, joins the jury along with Japan Times Film Critic Mark Schilling and leading members of Toronto's film community.
