Japanese Cult Film Star Asami Heading To The Texas Frightmare For North American Premiere Of GUN WOMAN
In Texas and got a hankering to meet Machine Girl and Robo Geisha star Asami? Well, then, get yourself to the Texas Frightmare weekend for the North American premiere of Mitsutake Kurando's cult action film Gun Woman!

(DALLAS, April 28, 2014) - The yellow rose of Texas is bound to get a little bloody this weekend when Japan's ass-kicking warrior princess and sexy action star ASAMI takes the stage at Texas Frightmare Weekend 2014--held at Dallas' DFW Hyatt Regency from May 2nd to 4th--to present the North American Premiere of her latest film and first international production, GUN WOMAN, shot in California and directed by Los Angeles-based Japanese director Kurando Mitsutake, who will also appear at the convention alongside his star.

Produced by Maxam Inc. and completed in late 2013, GUN WOMAN is the third feature film from director Mitsutake. The director's previous film, the Italian western-inspired sword- and gunplay film SAMURAI AVENGER, received a U.S. release in 2010 by Maya Entertainment, following a successful international film festival tour the previous year. GUN WOMAN made its World Premiere at this year's Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in northern Japan, where it took the Jury's Special Award in the Off-Theater Competition.

GUN WOMAN tells the story of a Japanese doctor who vows revenge on a crazy, sadistic killer after the murder of his loving wife. Despite the maximum security that surrounds the sick billionaire villain, the doctor discovers the perfect assassination method when he meets a young Japanese woman (Asami) living in the gutters as a drug addict and prostitute. Through severe mental and physical training, the doctor transforms the mute young woman into the most lethal assassin the world has ever seen. The doctor's outrageous plan, and his only chance for revenge, will be put into action at a secret underground facility where the killer goes to fulfill his bizarre and horrific sexual fetishes. On the night before the plan is set to go into effect, the woman assassin is "completed" by the doctor, including several surgical implants of the weapon she is to use when she finds her prey. She is now no longer an ordinary human, or an ordinary girl...she is GUN WOMAN.

Portraying GUN WOMAN's human--and often naked--weapon is Japan's most internationally famous cult film actress, ASAMI. Born in 1985, ASAMI made her debut in 2005 in director Naoyuki Tomomatsu's KISS ME OR KILL ME, but it was her association with filmmaker Noboru Iguchi, first in 2006's SUKEBAN BOY (where she portrayed a high school boy as beautiful as a girl) and then in his 2008 sensation THE MACHINE GIRL, which cemented her reputation as an actress wiling to go the distance for her role, in terms of onscreen violence, nudity and action. She continues her association with Iguchi to this day, having appeared in his films ROBO-GEISHA (2009), MUTANT GIRLS SQUAD (2010), KARATE-ROBO ZABORGAR and ZOMBIE ASS (both 2011), DEAD SUSHI (2012) and Iguchi's latest film, the action thriller LIVE (2014). She has also appeared in the works of other Japanese filmmakers, both in the world of action as well as that of pink (erotic) cinema, and some highlights include Yoshihiro Nishimura's HELLDRIVER, the two-film YAKUZA-BUSTING GIRLS series, the erotic splatter comedy HORNY HOUSE OF HORROR, Tomomatsu's LUST OF THE DEAD pink horror series, and Iguchi's own made-for-YouTube short film "Bad Butt," which was Executive Produced by none other than FAST & FURIOUS director Justin Lin!

GUN WOMAN actress ASAMI and writer / director Kurando Mitsutake will attend Texas Frightmare Weekend as Special Guests for the film's North American Premiere, and will also meet with fans, who can take photos with them, buy autographed stills, or have their own DVDs and other items autographed.
