Venice 2013: Miyazaki Hayao Officially To Retire!
Studio Ghibli president Hoshino Koji just officially announced the retirement of master animation director Miyazaki Hayao, whose latest feature Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) is screening in competition at the Lido. The announcement was made today at the Venice Film Festival's press conference room.

Further questions about his retirement would not be answered. A dedicated press conference is to follow next week in Japan. Of course, retiring is something "Miya-san" has tried to do so twice before, but most probably this time the ending of his outstanding career will truly be the case.
