Time To Get Wasted! First Trailer for Edgar Wright's THE WORLD'S END Lands!
That's right, as they attempt to work through their personal and inter-personal problems, it appears that the Earth is dealing with a slight problem of its own - an alien invasion. Suffice to say, there will be plenty of irreverent humour, knowing nods to classic sci-fi - most prominently Invasion of the Body Snatchers - and probably a bag or two of pork scratchings in store for our plucky heroes.
Rosamund Pike, Reece Shearsmith, Mark Heap and plenty of other familiar faces turn up, as do some memorable gags - namely the fence jump - albeit with a welcome new twist. While this first glance isn't exactly side-splittingly funny, the tone is at least consistent with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and I am confident that Wright and Co. are saving the film's best moments for opening night.
