Sundance 2013: Competition & Next Lineups Hit
It's that wonderful time of year with the days getting shorter, the air getting colder, and decorations popping up around your neighborhood. Forget about Black Friday sales and caroling and brandy soaked company parties, the best part of the holiday season is getting things and one of our very favorite gifts is the bevy of new cinematic offerings that will be heading our way courtesy of the Sundance Film Festival. While the Park City extravaganza doesn't begin until January 17, the anticipation begins right now with the announcement of the films that will be debuting in the four big competitions: US Dramatic, World Dramatic, US Documentary, and World Documentary. As a bonus, we've got the films that will be featured in the fest's extra indie Next section as well.
A quick read through the marquee US Dramatic Competition list
finds some exciting titles. David Lowery makes his feature debut with Ain't Them Bodies Saints starring
Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck, and Ben Foster. Lynn Shelton is back with Touchy Feely, reuniting the director
with Your Sister's Sister star
Rosemarie DeWitt and adding Allison Janney, Ron Livingston, Scoot McNairy,
Ellen Page, and Josh Pais. Also, actress Lake Bell will make her first feature
directing turn with in In a World..., a
comedy about the men behind the booming voices of movie trailers starring Demetri
Martin, Rob Corddry, and Ken Marino.

On a trip to an English resort, her fantasies of meeting the perfect

C.O.G. / U.S.A. (Director and screenwriter: Kyle

The Lifeguard / U.S.A. (Director and screenwriter: Liz
