Rutger Hauer Plays The Lead In THE HEINEKEN KIDNAPPING
Alfred (Freddy) Heineken is the man widely recognized for taking his family's brewery and transforming it into the international empire it is today. But for three weeks in 1983, Heineken was famous for an entirely different reason. Because in early November of that year he was kidnapped - along with his driver - and held captive for three weeks.

And now the true story of those events is coming to the big screen with Maarten Treurniet's The Heineken Kidnapping due to hit screens in The Netherlands in October with Rutger Hauer in the lead.

The first teaser for this one has just arrived and it looks like a very slick, polished affair. Check it below.

The real Freddie Heineken looked nothing like Rutger Hauer yet that makes this poster all the more interesting, because Rutger strangely enough appears... somehow right for the job. This just looks like a good fit regardless of facial (dis)similarity.

Should be Guinness no?

Why? True story of a kidnapped Dutch brewer, as played by a Dutch actor. How would Guiness factor in?

James MarshJuly 11, 2011 12:13 PM

Hauer starred in a string of Guinness TV commercials in the UK back in the day.

Ah, gotcha. Figured I had to be missing something.
