I've been collecting Lord of the Rings Premium Format Pieces for a long while. The move to PF was based on my desire to collect definitive versions of the characters and their costumes that were large enough to use in public presentations. This impressive piece is perfect for that. 

Standing more than 27 inches tall 9 inches wide and 13 inches deep this depicts Gandalf the Grey leading the fellowship down the stone steps of the Mines of Moria. The costume is highly detailed and includes full-sword in leather scabbard, rope belt, satchel, inner and outer cloak, and pants. Shoes and Gandalfs shirt are sculpted as is his hat. The outer cloak is removable and in a nice touch features ties rather than velcro for a more authentic feel to the piece. 

The Exclusive version is far preferable here. In the nonexclusive the portrait offered is wearing Gandalfs signature hat and shadows his face a bit too much for my liking.

But no matter which one you choose there is one feature that make this piece a must have for any LOTR fan- a hidden button on Gandalf's mid-section lights the crystal at the end of his staf with glorious soft white LED light. Batteries can be replaced easily. Everything about this from the pose, to the size makes for an absolutely majestic conversation piece. "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!" this up; especially since the edition size is a mere 650 pieces.
