The Host (괴물) Hits the 10 Million Admissions Mark

As of Wednesday, 5pm (Korean time), The Host has surpassed the 10 million admissions mark at the box office, after only 21 days. Tuesday was a national holiday in Korea (August 15, Liberation Day), so it really gave the film a boost.

To put this in perspective, here’s a list of all the Korean films that reached 10 million in admissions, and how long it took them to get there:

The Host (괴물) - 21 days
Tae Guk Gi (태극기 휘날리며) - 39 days
King and the Clown (왕의 남자) - 45 days
Silmido (실미도) - 58 days.
