Ha-Kala Ha-Surit (Syrian Bride)

Nominated for six awards by the Israeli Film Academy Eran Riklis' feature film Syrian Bride offers an interesting look at a place and its people we often associate with painful to watch CNN coverage. Following the story of a woman from the Golan Heights and a film and a Syrian film star this production is definitely worth a look. The film also won the Grand Prix des Ameriques and the FIPRESCI Awards at the Montreal film festival.
