Benny Chan's CALL OF HEROES Delivers Old School Kung Fu Action In Trio Of Character Teasers

It's only natural that fans will have certain expectations of a big screen team up of veteran Hong Kong action helmer Benny Chan and iconic action director Sammo Hung. If ever there were a duo capable of delivering a solid Golden Era throwback on to the big screen it's these two. And it would appear those fans are not going to be disappointed as that appears to be exactly what Chan and Hung have delivered with Call of Heroes.

During the warlords era in the early Republic of China, a village located in rural area called Pucheng fell into dangerous situation when the new ruling warlord Cao Ying tried to take over the village, his son, cruel commandant Cao Shaolun arrived the village and killed the innocent and orphans, guardians of the village arrested him and planned to execute him after the trial. Cao’s subordinates demanded the release of Shaolun, and Cao’s army later invaded Pucheng …. The brave heroes swore to fight the battle to protect their homeland…

Wu Jing, Eddie Peng, Lau Ching Wan and Louis Koo - wielding a golden gun, just in case you missed the fact that he's the villain of the piece - all star and all appear to be having an absolute blast. With theatrical release just around the corner throughout Chinese speaking territories a trio of character teasers - one each focused on Wu Jing, Eddie Peng and Louis Koo's characters - have arrived and they're an absolute blast. Check them out below!

That looks like a lot of fun. I thought I remembered hearing that Wu Jing had developed some health problem that was going to force him to retire from this kind of thing.

Yeah, major leg issues on Wolf Warrior. He was posting photos from hospital on his social media. Luckily he made a much better recovery than it appeared he would early on.
