Offscreen Brussels 2016 Is On, With A Terrific Line-up!
Last evening, the 2016 edition of the Offscreen film festival in Brussels started, and once again it is likely to be one of the best genre festivals in Europe this year. Alongside new titles there are plenty of classics shown as well, and this year sees themes dedicated to crazy women on film, Frank Henenlotter and Lucile Hadzihalilovic (both present at the festival as guests), and the exploitation cinema of New York's infamous 42nd Street theaters.

Looking through the titles shown this year, you see a treasure trove of films old and new, especially in the "Driving Miss Crazy" and "42nd Street Forever" sections. I mean, how many more chances will we ever get to see the following titles theatrically?

A Lizard in a Woman's Skin (Lucio Fulci)
Possession (Andrzej Zulawski)
Trouble Every Day (Claire Denis)
Repulsion (Roman Polanski)
Frankenhooker (Frank Henenlotter)
Don't Deliver Us From Evil (Joël Séria)
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (Robert Aldrich)
I Drink Your Blood (David E. Durston)
Ms .45 (Abel Ferrara)

I mean, whoa! And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Newer titles include Ben Wheatley's High-Rise, Jerzy Skolimowski's 11 Minutes, Yves Montmayeur's The 1000 Eyes of Maddin, Lucile Hadzihalilovic's Evolution... and many more.

The Offscreen festival lasts until March 20th, and you can check their full list of screenings and events here.
