TMNT 2 Trailer Gets Back To Silly Basics

Bebop! Rocksteady! Casey Jones! Following a rather lackluster first effort to the Michael Bay produced live action revival of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise the directing reins for the sequel have been handed to Dave Green - a great favorite around these parts back to his earliest short and music video work - and while the design path of the franchise has already been set by the earlier film he looks to be taking it back to core values.

And by core values here, I mean the value intrinsic in having grown up in the late eighties and early nineties and rushing home to watch the first cartoon incarnation on TV after school. No Krang in this one but there are favorite characters Bebop and Rocksteady along with Casey Jones right up front and center. CGI heavy? Yes, very much so, but the energy feels a lot more true to the TMNT that I fell in love with as a kid. Check out the trailer below.
