It's A Man-Robot Road Movie With Korea's ROBOT-SORI
It's almost impossible not to see shades of  Jang Hyung-yun's recent Korean animation Satellite Girl And Milk Cow in Lee Ho-jae's upcoming feature Robot-Sori, what with both stories revolving around AI enabled satellites with voice recognition capabilities that crash to earth to help their earthbound companions. But while the similarities are certainly strong enough to arch an eyebrow and wonder about the possibility of shared source material the similarities appear to go no farther.

Lee Sung-min stars in the live action effort as a man who refuses to believe that his missing daughter is dead and when he encounters a downed satellite recognizes this as a chance to find her. Cue up melodramatic road trip between man and robot.

Poised for a January debut the trailer for this one is freshly arrived and plays remarkably straight faced, clearly aiming to tug the heartstrings a bit. Check it out below.
