Don't Get In The Haunted Car! But Do Check Out The Trailer For Russian Horror THE ROUTE IS BUILT (Маршрут построен)

Cinema likes haunting things. We've had haunted houses. We've had haunted dolls. We've had haunted spouses, haunted children, haunted boxes, haunted schools, haunted roads. But I don't believe that I've ever before seen a film about a haunted car. [Please note: Todd was not yet caffeinated when he wrote this and forgot about the incredibly obvious example of Christine. Because he's kind of stupid that way.] Oleg Assadulin's Маршрут построен (romanized as Marshrut Postroen, literally translated as The Route Is Built) changes that.

A veteran genre director the director of The Phobos and Dark World 2 here tells the story of a young couple that jump at the chance to buy a high end car at a low end price. What they don't know is that the original owner killed his wife and hid her body in the trunk for a time and in the trunk her spirit remains. And she doesn't much care for it when the couple begin to argue in the front seat.

This is a slickly produced affair with a solid central concept and very high end production values. Take a look at the trailer below.
