Portuguese Animation Gets MACABRE
Portuguese director Jeronimo Rocha has become a great favorite here at ScreenAnarchy thanks to a string of absolutely fabulous short films and festival bumpers created for major genre events around the globe. And it was back in October of 2014 that we first brought you a piece titled The Mansion which, at the time, was a brief animated bumper created for the Film4 Frightfest in London. Well, it's grown.

With the help of co-director Joao Miguel Real, Rocha has just wrapped Macabre, a near twenty minute animated short film currently being submitted to film festivals around the globe. And if the style seems familiar it's because, yup, what was formerly known as The Mansion is actually a small scene from within this larger project. Check out the fabulous trailer below and with a bit of luck we'll have the chance to catch this on the big screen soon.
