ATROCIOUS (ATROZ): Check Out This Brutal Trailer For The Mexican Horror Flick
If I turn up dead, or drunk, in Mexico when I am down to cover the Morbido Film Festival in a couple weeks I want Atroz/Atrocious director Lex Ortega to be brought in for questioning first.
Lex's debut feature film is about to roll out throughout Latin America like a goddamned blood-soaked steamroller and I do not think we are prepared for it. Not one bit. ScreenAnarchy has your first look at first trailer for the brutal horror flick.
Atroz/Atrocious is a film that portrays the story of two serial killers, who after being arrested for causing a traffic accident, police confiscate some videotapes. These tapes contain brutal murders and tortures that show human wickedness, their background, paraphilia and psyche of these murderers.
Atroz is going to polarize the audience in Puebla, that is for certain. Ortega's depiction of brutal violence is not going to be for everyone. I do not know if I am even ready for it and I kind of know what to expect based on Ortega's short films including the 2012 short film version of this story that got it all started.
Another sure thing is that Atroz is going to sound bloody awesome because of Ortega's extensive work in sound design (Late Phases, Here Comes the Devil, El Gigante). If his work as a front man for a Mexican metal band does not result in at least one teeth grinding song in the mix I could be disappointed with that as well.
Atroz will have it's World Premier at the Puerto Rica Horror Film Fest and follow up with the Mexican Premier at Morbido. In his last e-mail to me Lex told me to bring my 'drinking shoes'. What does that even mean!?!
